Maret Rossi, owner and grower of Reiki Works, has returned to her homeland of the Bay Area since September. On Sundays (and by appointment), she offers healings out of Scarlet Sage Apothecary in the Mission, and gives home visits upon request. Trained five years ago by Brian Brunius at SF Reiki Center, she has learned Shoden and Okuden in Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki through the John Harvey Gray, Hawayo Takata, Chujiro Hayashi, Mikao Usui sensei lineage. She continues to volunteer and train at SF Reiki Center’s low-cost clinic on Monday and Friday nights with Christopher Tellez.
Reiki 靈氣 (ray-key) is a Japanese healing art of channeling energy through the palms of the hands. It’s kind of like acupuncture without the needles – like receiving an energetic massage. People generally fall asleep, feel deeply relaxed and meditative, and sense warm buzzing waves through their body.
*this is a scent-free practice, though not a scent-free event, and I describe the hand positions before to affirm consent*
At the Healer’s Market, Maret (mah-rit, which means pearl in Norwegian) will be offering donation-based 30-min and 45-min sessions.
